Hong Kong War Claim - Ref. No. 12352A(a)
Since lodging our above numbered claim with the Reparations Officer, Hong Kong, from whom we have an official acknowledgement under the above reference, we have not yet received any payment of satisfactory information regarding when payment in respect of our claim may be expected.
Our claim is for the amount of £507. 6s. 4d. in respect of consignment stock of pharmaceutical preparations carried by our agents in Hong Kong at the time of the Japanese occupation.
Copy of our latest reminder to them dated 9th. October is attached hereto and up to the time of writing we regret we have not had any reply to our letter. We have, however, received information from another source that the funds available for reparation claims are being utilised for other public purposes and we shall be glad if you will kindly let us have an official explanation and also let us know what further action we should take to obtain reimbursement of the above outstanding amount in our books.
